Dentures in Wigan

Our dentures are made from acrylic (a hard plastic-like material) or chrome.

The NHS recommends that you do not wear dentures overnight as this could damage them; trapped food also increases the risk of tooth decay.

If you have removable dentures, you should continue to brush your remaining teeth and gums twice daily with fluoride toothpaste; this will help to prevent damage.

Do not put toothpaste onto dentures as this could damage them; instead, brush them with soft soap or washing up liquid twice a day, over a sink or something soft like a towel. You should rinse your dentures after meals to remove any food. At night, you should put them in water or an overnight denture-cleaning solution; your dentist can advise you.

If you have implant-retained dentures, you should clean them in the same way you clean your other teeth. With good oral hygiene, they can last for many years.

It might take some time to adjust to wearing dentures initially, but at Circ Dental our dentures are crafted to fit securely and comfortably. Even if you have very few or no teeth, you will still need dental checkups to examine your mouth and gums, and ensure that your dentures are still fitting correctly. Although with proper care, dentures can last a long time, they will still need replacement after between 5 and 10 years.
