Invisalign treatment in Wigan

It is difficult to place a definitive timeline on your treatment as everyone’s smile is different. 

However, on average, Invisalign treatment takes approximately as long as fixed braces, between 12 and 18 months. Depending on their situation, some patients take as little as 6 months to complete their treatment, while others can take up to 24 months or longer.

Invisalign aligners are made of a flexible, transparent plastic, SmartTrack. This material is free from animal products, latex and Bisphenol-A (BPA), a chemical often found in plastic packaging.

Aligners are designed to feel smooth and comfortable, but during the first few days they will probably feel tight; this is a sign they are working. If you leave them out for more than a few hours a day, it might lengthen your treatment. Ideally, you should wear them between 20 and 22 hours per day. Aligners can get lost or broken; it is important to clean them properly and put them somewhere safe when you need to take them out.

Yes, as Invisalign is safe and non-invasive. However, we do recommend discussing any dental treatment during pregnancy with your obstetrician or antenatal team.

It might take a few days for you to get used to wearing aligners, and you may speak with a slight lisp initially, but this should clear up quickly.

As Invisalign aligners are removable, there are no restrictions on what you can eat. However, you should remove aligners when eating or drinking anything other than water as they can get stained or damaged. To maintain good dental hygiene, you will need to clean your teeth every time you eat or drink something, before you put your aligners back in.
